The New Orleans Saints rookie class hasn’t made much noise throughout the summer, but there’s been one consistent young standout: wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith. New Orleans’ third round draft pick has seemed to make a big play in every day of practice, and he’s continued to keep making himself known through three preseason games.
Smith set the pace for the rest of the team against the Chargers by catching all four of his targets for 39 yards and a score, though he wasn’t credited for a fifth 23-yard pickup due to a holding penalty on receiver Michael Floyd.
