The New Orleans Saints opened a spot on the practice squad for rookie tailback Boston Scott by releasing undrafted quarterback J.T. Barrett, per Joel Erickson of the Advocate.
Scott was released on Wednesday and cleared waivers to return to New Orleans on the practice squad, joining 2018 fourth round draft pick Rick Leonard and other tailbacks Jonathan Williams and Dwayne Washington.
The Saints probably have all of the quarterbacks they can use right now between the starter and future Hall of Fame inductee (Drew Brees) the backup and potential face of the franchise (Teddy Bridgewater) and the future Pro Bowl special teamer (Taysom Hill).
