The New Orleans Saints completed an expected roster move, releasing veteran safety Kurt Coleman. The release was first reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network and was confirmed by Nick Underhill of the Advocate.
The #Saints are releasing S Kurt Coleman, source says. The team will keep the door open to his potential return later but he was due $5.5m in total compensation this season and that figure was too high for them.

Coleman had a $7 million salary cap hit in 2019, which is reduced to $3 million in dead money now that he has been released.
