The New Orleans Saints typically use their minicamp practices to try out veteran free agents, and that’s exactly what they’re doing on Tuesday. John Hendrix of SB Nation reported that former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews was practicing with the team on a tryout basis.
Matthews, 29, has appeared in 87 regular season games for the Titans, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins. He’s recorded 230 receptions and gained 3,160 receiving yards (a rate of 13.7 yards per reception), with 21 touchdown catches. His best seasons came in 2016 and 2017, when he thrived as a downfield threat for quarterback Marcus Mariota.
