The New Orleans Saints agreed to a contract extension with kicker Wil Lutz, as first reported by Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the multi-year extension will run for five years, securing the 24-year old kicker’s future in New Orleans. The dollar amounts have yet to be reported. Lutz broke a franchise record for kicking accuracy in 2018 that was set decades ago by Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Morten Andersen.
This is the latest move the Saints have made to lock in their special teams units.
