According to a report, the New Orleans Saints have waived undrafted rookie tight end Jack Tabb, signing veteran tight end Alex Smith in his place.
The news comes as no surprise — Jack Tabb went down with an apparent knee injury Thursday, eventually being carted off the field. The injury came while the University of North Carolina product was trying to make a catch in the end zone. He fell to the ground, screaming in pain, holding his knee.
With Jack Tabb gone, and Josh Hill currently sidelined, the New Orleans Saints were left with Benjamin Watson and Orson Charles as the only healthy tight ends, which means they needed to add one or two more for camp bodies.
