The New Orleans Saints signed Anthony Spencer this offseason. He quickly became a candidate to help fill the void left after troubled pass rusher Junior Galette was released.
After starting off training camp on a high note, expectations for the veteran and former star for the Dallas Cowboys quickly derailed. During the preseason opener, Anthony Spencer was called for several penalties, which assisted in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
To add to the frustration, he’s been battling an unspecified injury for several weeks now and is reportedly being placed on injured reserve as one of many moves the Saints are making Tuesday to trim down the roster to 75 men before the 3:00 PM CST deadline.
