Report: disgraced ex-Saints DC Gregg Williams named Browns interim HC

The Cleveland Browns looked like they were ready to compete in 2018, but they’ve spiraled down as low as a team get: per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been named Cleveland’s interim head coach. This comes off the heels of news that head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley reached mutually-assured destruction, and lost their jobs.

Williams, infamous for his ringleading role in the Bountygate scandal, has managed to stick around football long enough to fail upwards into this position. Saints head coach Sean Payton certainly isn’t fond of him:

Odds aren’t good that Williams will be named permanent head coach, but his team has enough good players to win some games.
