New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith agreed to take a pay cut, lowering his 2019 salary cap hit from $6.45 million to $4.15 million. The Saints saved $2.3 million in salary cap space, and Meredith gets to remain with New Orleans to compete for a spot on the 2019 opening-day roster. This was accomplished by reducing Meredith’s base salary to $1.3 million; the contract he signed last year put him at $3.4 million. Field Yates of ESPN first reported Meredith’s pay cut.
Meredith dealt with prolonged knee issues in 2018 related to a previous injury he suffered with the Chicago Bears.
