An explanation for some of the New Orleans Saints offensive miscues has come to light, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. According to Schefter’s report, Saints starting left guard Andrus Peat broke his hand during the regular season finale against the Carolina Panthers and underwent surgery during the team’s first-round playoff bye week. Nick Underhill of the Advocate added that Peat has been practicing with a wrapped-up hand.
Peat exited that Panthers game favoring his left forearm, and appeared to fall awkwardly onto it while finishing a block. So this is a logical sequence of events.
