The NFL issued a new mandate to its teams for their 2020 training camps, requiring rosters to shrink from the usual 90 players down to just 80 by Aug. 16 (the day before padded practices may begin). Some teams have already begun trimming their depth charts, and the New Orleans Saints are among them.
Veterans like nose tackle Taylor Stallworth, fullback Ricky Ortiz, and wide receivers Tommylee Lewis, Krishawn Hogan, and Maurice Harris were among the cuts. So were a few undrafted rookies: both LSU guard Adrian Magee and Oregon end Gus Cumberlander were released before camp really got going.
