Positions where Saints still need help ahead of roster cuts deadline

The NFL requires every team, including the New Orleans Saints, to trim their rosters from 90 players to just 53 by 3:00 p.m. CT on Saturday. That’s going to put about 1,100 players out on the street, many of whom will test the waiver wire. That’s a great opportunity for the Saints to improve some positions of need, which have either been struck by injuries over the summer or struggled to progress as expected.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and scouting director Jeff Ireland will be busy evaluating the many new free agents on the market, as will head coach Sean Payton and his staff.
