Peyton Manning used some deadpan humor before expressing his sincere congratulations for Drew Brees setting the career passing yards record Monday (Oct. 8).
In a video displayed inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome soon after Brees set the record with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre'Quan Smith down the right sideline, Manning said he had nothing left to look forward to now that he no longer held the record.
"For 1,000 days I held the record for all-time passing yards in he NFL," Manning said. "I got to tell you it's been the greatest 1,000 days in my life, and thanks to you, that's over now.
