It’s tough to find respect, sometimes. The New Orleans Saints have found that out the hard way — winning 26 of their last 36 games (including the playoffs) still has them on the outside looking in, if we’re asking some observers. That’s sometimes reflected in power rankings for the upcoming season.
The latest power rankings come from Peter King of NBC Sports, who both questions how the Saints can rebound from two tough playoff exits in as many years, and expresses confidence in team leaders riding out the storm:
I’m dying to know after bowing out of the playoffs in the most bizarre of circumstances in two straight years—the Stefon Diggs walk-off (essentially) TD in 2017, and the blown non-interference call against the Rams last year—whether the impact of those dispiriting losses will have any impact on the Saints in 2019.
