Olympic legend Carl Lewis emphasizes commitment to craft in speech to Saints

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton estimates he's welcomed about a dozen speakers to address the team, but none of them were as decorated as the one who spoke to the players Sunday evening.

Carl Lewis, who won nine total Olympic gold medals spanning across four summer games, attended practice Sunday before speaking to the Saints.

Lewis now lives in Houston, and Payton said he came to New Orleans thanks in part to connections of assistant coach Brian Young.

"He wanted to come over and kind of help our guys out," Payton said. "He just talked about work and the will to win, basically.
