The New Orleans Saints are still looking to improve their pass-rushing options, and on Tuesday night, they reportedly agreed to a deal with a veteran free agent.
Outside linebacker Matt Shaughnessy, a third-round pick in 2009, plans to sign with the Saints, according to an NFL Network report.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Shaughnessy spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2013 and 2014, but was cut out of training camp in 2015 and remained a free agent.
The Saints will see if Shaughnessy can perform better than some of their outside outside linebacker options, though the group has looked decent thus far in training camp.
