The Saints don’t expect to be big players in free agency, and there’s no evidence that they even can be. However, that isn’t stopping their name from emerging in connection certain free agents in this tampering period. Among those free agents is reportedly cornerback Richard Sherman, per Tom Pelissero.
Sherman, a three-time All Pro and part of the Seahawks’ infamous “Legion of Boom,” would ostensibly fill the void left by Janoris Jenkins, whom the Saints cut during a flurry of moves to get closer to the salary cap limit. While Sherman isn’t an upgrade from Jenkins, he would hopefully be solid enough to shore up a position that the Saints have desperate need in next season.
