The NFL issued its fines for Week 15 games, hitting New Orleans Saints offensive guard Andrus Peat and defensive end Marcus Davenport for a combined $30,084. Ironically, two Carolina Panthers players were also fined for a combined $30,084. The total breakdowns come from Joe Person of the Athletic:
- Saints DE Davenport was fined $20,054 for a roughing the passer penalty
- Saints OG Peat was fined $10,026 for an unnecessary roughness penalty
- Panthers LB David Mayo was fined $10,026 for running into Saints punter Thomas Morstead
- Panthers DB Eric Reid was fined $20,054 for unnecessary roughness, but was not flagged
Some of the fouls committed were flagrant, but it’s still tough to see players getting hit so hard in their wallets.
