New Orleans: Superdome gets Super Bowl in 2024

The Mercedes Benz Superdome will once again host the Super Bowl. The vote came in on Wednesday, May 23, from the NFL Owners’ Meeting in Atlanta. The last time the city hosted the event was for Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

That wasn’t a terribly memorable game except for the power outage that delayed part of it. Other than that, it was a close, 34-31, win for the Ravens. It was a battle between head coaches who were brothers. But neither the Ravens nor the 49ers have been much to be excited about since.

In the intervening years, the NFL has seemed to be all about having the event in brand new stadiums despite what kind of draw the cities themselves were.
