Garrett Grayson was selected by the Saints to be groomed into a possible successor to Drew Brees. Grayson does have a few things working in his favor, including the fact that he ran a pro-style offense that put him under center and inside a huddle a number of times. He also demonstrated poise and leadership qualities during his final season at Colorado State and led the Rams to a 10-3 campaign.
Grayson spearheaded the offense with 4,006 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
He isn’t the runner that Mariota is, but he eludes pressure in the pocket with underrated footwork and can hit receivers on the run in space.
