The New Orleans Saints waived long snapper Chris Highland on Monday, leaving veteran Justin Drescher as the only long snapper.
Highland's departure makes room for kicker Connor Barth, who will compete with Kai Forbath, and wide receiver Vincent Brown.
Highland spent time with the Saints in training camp last summer when Drescher was out with an injury, but did not make the 53-man roster.
He was re-signed by the Saints at the beginning of May.
The Saints had 89 players under contract as of Monday morning and a little more than $600,000 in available cap room, with only the top-51 contracts counting.
