This doesn’t come as a shock. With numerous talented cornerbacks, the New Orleans Saints had to eventually start making cuts. Kayvon Webster was first on the list in the secondary, meaning more of a chance for Ken Crawley to sneak into the 53-man roster.

Webster was tied for the 14th-most snaps on the Saints defense throughout the preseason. Per Pro Football Focus (premium content), Webster ranked in the team’s top-five for tackling yet dropped back to 14th in coverage.
Four cornerbacks, not including Marshon Lattimore, ranked in front of Webster, one reason he may’ve been one of the corners the Saints opted to waive.
