One way for the New Orleans Saints to honor the memory of Will Smith after his shooting death in April will come in the team's style of play, coach Sean Payton said Monday on NFL Network.
"Whether it's a patch or a sticker, I think it's more for a guy like Will, it's remembering what he stood for," Payton said.
Payton described Smith, whose 10 seasons with the Saints included his key role on the Super Bowl-winning defense from the 2009 season, as a "no-nonsense player."
"He was a born leader for that defensive line," Payton said.
