The New Orleans Saints added their 13th player via a future contract Wednesday with Vick Ballard, who was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Mississippi State.
Ballard had a very productive rookie season, earning a starting nod and totaling 814 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while adding 17 catches for 152 yards and another score through the air.
Since 2012, Ballard’s production has dipped off thanks to a series of significant injuries, which ranged from a torn ACL to a torn Achilles tendon.
