The New Orleans Saints know they need to improve their offensive line play, and they added a player they hope can help.
After a tryout in Metairie on Monday, Khalif Barnes agreed to a one-year deal with the Saints, according to a source. He has experience playing left tackle, right tackle and right guard.
The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the transaction.
Barnes, 34, was a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2005. After four years with the Jaguars, he spent the last seven with the Oakland Raiders.
