New Orleans Saints re-sign QB Luke McCown, sign LB Nate Stupar

The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have re-signed quarterback Luke McCown to a two-year contract and signed free agent linebacker Nate Stupar to a three-year contract. The announcements were made by Saints’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

McCown, 6-4, 217, has served as Drew Brees’ backup and as the club’s holder on field goal and PAT attempts since 2013. Originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, the 12-year NFL veteran has appeared in 62 career games with 10 starts for five teams and has completed 216-of-356 passes (60.
