Week 1 is behind us, so it’s time to update our New Orleans Saints player power rankings. This is formed by each of our Saints Wire staff writers submitting a ballot of the week’s top 25 players, which are scored and averaged to find cumulative results.
So what changed from last week’s player power ranking? Five players who were ranked going into Week 1 didn’t make the cut: Ken Crawley, who is on injured reserve; backups P.J. Williams, James Hurst, Carl Granderson, and Blake Gillikin. Five newcomers took their places.
As for the changes: as you might expect, no one jumped higher than Jameis Winston, who climbed nine spots, though Cesar Ruiz came close by moving up seven slots after unexpectedly sliding over to center.
