New Orleans Saints cut veteran offensive lineman Khalif Barnes

continued altering their roster Tuesday as they cut veteran offensive lineman Khalif Barnes.

The 35-year-old Barnes spent portions of 2016 with the Saints, but didn't appear in any games. He re-signed earlier in May, but was released Tuesday after the team's fourth organized team activities practice.

The Saints had to clear a roster spot to sign wide receiver Lance Moore to a one-day contract.

The Saints are expected to re-sign Barnes on Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the situation.
