The Saints are calling up reinforcements to the active roster ahead of Sunday’s NFC South showdown against the Carolina Panthers, a game that will determine who will be tops in the division moving forward.
According to a report on Nola.com, the Saints have promoted former Air Force tight end Garrett Griffin from the practice squad in a move to help shore up depth at the position after the team lost No. 1 tight end Coby Fleener to a concussion.
Fleener became concussed during last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams when he took a viscous helmet-to-helmet hit courtesy of safety Blake Countess.
