The NFL punished the New Orleans Saints heavily due to suspicion of a bounty program back in the 2009 playoffs, including one of then-Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.
As it turns out, the Vikings might've been trying to injure players for money during that season, too.
According to an excerpt from the new book "Gunslinger: The Remarkable, Improbable, Iconic Life of Brett Favre," which was posted on Deadspin, a Vikings coach once said that he'd give $500 to anyone who took Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett out of a game that year because the coaches thought Barnett tried to injure running back Adrian Peterson.
