Mike Tirico, who has been a stalwart on ESPN for 25 years and has served as the lead play-by-play announcer on "MNF" since 2006, is leaving the network for NBC, Sports Business Daily reported Monday afternoon.
NBC refused to comment on the move, according to the report. The network recently acquired the rights to broadcast a five Thursday night NFL games.
The report says Tirico, 49, will stay on at ESPN until his contract expires this summer.
