The Saints confused a lot of fans and media by cutting running back Jonathan Williams on Saturday. He was seen as the certain replacement for running back Mark Ingram while he serves his four-game suspension in September. But on Sunday, Sep. 2, they signed former Patriots running back Mike Gillislee to handle the chores.
The Saints aren’t done with Williams as he was added to the team’s practice squad on Sunday. Details of the deal with Gillislee haven’t been made public yet but it is known that it will be a one-year signing.
