Baton Rouge -- Nearly three weeks have passed since the New Orleans Saints hosted cornerback Malcolm Butler on a free-agent visit, but nothing has changed with regards to his status.
Butler is a restricted free agent with the New England Patriots, and although the Saints are interested in adding him to the roster, the only way they would acquire him is via trade, something the two teams cannot discuss until Butler signs his tender with the Patriots.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was asked Wednesday if any possible Butler deal was dead, and he said there was no update.
