MOBILE, Ala. -- For the rest of his life now, Mickey Loomis said he's always going to remember the two that got away.
The New Orleans Saints general manager compared the 2017 season to the 2011 season that also ended with a last-minute loss in the divisional round of the playoffs.
"Look, for the rest of my life I'm gonna feel like, 'We were this close to being in three Super Bowls,' And hopefully it's more than that," Loomis said, also referencing the 2010 Super Bowl win.
Loomis said it wasn't just about the stunning finish in last Sunday's 29-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings that ended on Stefon Diggs' improbable 61-yard touchdown catch as time expired.
