It was a painful game to watch as a Saints team without three starting offensive linemen, Drew Brees or Alvin Kamara took a meaningless, 33-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers. But one bright spot was Michael Thomas setting the Saints franchise record for receiving yards.
It’s amazing, in retrospect, that the previous franchise record for receiving yards in Saints history has been held by Joe Horn since his 2004 season on the other end of throws from Aaron Brooks. In that year, Horn posted 94 catches for 1,399 yards and 11 touchdowns.
