New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas started his career without much tall talk, bidding his fans to quietly support him with the “#shhhh” tag and rarely tweeting more than lyrics to his favorite songs. But lately he’s come into his own as one of the NFL’s elite receivers, and is getting increasingly vocal in pursuit of his due recognition.
That came to a head when the Advocate’s Nick Underhill reported that Thomas was fined $10,026 for taunting during last week’s Monday Night Football game against Washington. Thomas was fined in the second quarter for addressing the Washington sideline while celebrating Drew Brees’ record-breaking 62-yard touchdown pass.
