New Orleans Saints All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas didn’t take his team’s NFC championship game loss to the Los Angeles Rams lying down. Thomas addressed the situation surrounding a non-called penalty by Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman – which he admitted to postgame, and the NFL apologized for missing – on his official Twitter account.
Thomas cited Rule 17, Section 2 (“Extraordinarily unfair acts”), Article 3 of the 2018 NFL Rulebook, which states:
The Commissioner’s powers under this Section 2 include the imposition of monetary fines and draft-choice forfeitures, suspension of persons involved in unfair acts, and, if appropriate, the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred.
