In a video interview posted on the New Orleans Saints website, Marshon Lattimore said his father told him to “always stay humble.” He also admonishes himself to “stay levelheaded.” Levelheaded and humble are lofty goals when you’ve just been named the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Lattimore’s status isn’t just based on how he did compared to other rookies in 2017. Right now he’s considered one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL. Pro Football Focus just ranked him as a challenger for the throne, the top corner in the league. The weight of that argument being that he was thrown on 80 times in 2017 and gave up zero touchdowns.
