In a bit of a roster snafu last week, the Saints signed wide receiver Josh Huff and linebacker Jayrone Elliott to reserve/futures contracts only to have the NFL nix the deals. The signings, it turns out, would have put the Saints at 92 players where only 90 are allowed.
Over the past couple of days, the Saints have released defensive tackles Nick Fairley and Tony McDaniel. That frees up space on the roster and, on Tuesday, Huff and Elliott were officially resigned.
Both are intriguing prospects though longshots to make the final roster for 2018.
