Jimmy Buffett made a rare appearance during opening ceremonies of the 2018 NFC championship game, singing the national anthem before kickoff between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately, Buffett (a Pascagoula, Mississippi native) was then one of 73,000 baffled Saints fans who witnessed firsthand an officiating gaffe that helped cost the Saints a victory, and a trip to the Super Bowl.
So, when Buffett performed again in the Crescent City a few months later, at a venue more his speed — the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival — he took the stage wearing a creative costume.
