New Orleans Saints superstar wide receiver Michael Thomas has one year left on his rookie contract, so he’s set to become a free agent in March 2020. But he’ll be able to negotiate a contract extension with the Saints when the new league year rolls over on March 13, and it would make sense for the sides to come to an agreement well ahead of schedule. If they wait, the Kansas City Chiefs could reset the market for receivers in a new deal with Tyreek Hill.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Kansas City enters those negotiations knowing full well that it well be a record-setting contract with Hill.
