How Nick Foles-Jaguars signing impacts Teddy Bridgewater

The last time Nick Foles took the field, he threw two interceptions in a postseason loss to the New Orleans Saints. After that, the Jacksonville Jaguars rewarded the Eagles’ former Super Bowl hero with a four-year, $88 million contract with escalators reaching as high as $102 million and more than $50 million in guarantees. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the signing. This raises questions for the future of New Orleans backup Teddy Bridgewater, shutting the door on a potential landing-spot for the young quarterback in Jacksonville.

With the Jaguars off the board and a flurry of pre-negotiating window trades behind him, this leaves only the Miami Dolphins as a possible option for Bridgewater if he wants to earn a starting gig in 2019.
