The New Orleans Saints traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks Friday night, adding another name to the list of offensive weapons the team has traded away in recent years.
After more than a week of fielding offers on Cooks, the Saints finally agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots. New Orleans sent Cooks and a fourth-round pick (118th overall) to the Patriots for two picks, one in the first round (32nd overall) and another in the third round (103rd overall).
The deal has already resulted in plenty of debate among the fanbase, but the Saints went with the best offer available as they looked for assets to help improve the defense.
