The New Orleans Saints gambled big on their 2018 season, trading future draft picks for players who helped them reach the NFC championship game. But now that it’s behind them, general manager Mickey Loomis and his staff are set to prepare for the 2019 NFL Draft without any selections in the first, third, or fourth rounds. Their only valuable draft pick is in the second round (No. 62 overall), but they do have multiple selections for the later rounds.
But Loomis isn’t sweating it. He spoke with Luke Johnson of the Times-Picayune, explaining the Saints’ scouting process, “Our guys are evaluating every player in the draft and you never know what can happen in terms of acquiring picks.
