Let’s face it, losing Drew Brees for any amount of time for the Saints is a bad position. He’s one of the best to ever play the game and a player of that caliber is never easy to replace, even with talented and well-prepared backups. He had surgery on the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in the thumb on his throwing hand on Wednesday, Sep. 18. The most optimistic time-table for his return is six weeks.
It’s amazing that Drew Brees has been in the league as long as he has, now in his 19th season, and is just now missing his first time due to injury aside from one game in 2015.
