Before the New Orleans Saints decided they would release Junior Galette on Friday, the pass rusher said the team attempted to place him on injured reserve.
The move wouldn’t have been to stash Galette for a season. Instead, he said the Saints wanted to place him on IR and then release him once healthy.
“(General Manager) Mickey (Loomis) called me and wanted me to come in. I didn’t feel like going in because I kind of — why do I need to speak to the general manager? I never speak to Mickey,” Galette said. “Instead of coming out, what do you have to say to me on the phone?
