Expect another tough offseason for the Saints in 2022. We don’t know what their list of needs will be next year, but we do know many of the big names headed for free agency if the team can’t hammer out a series of long-term extensions. Both sides of the ball are in a tough spot, and the finances won’t get better until the salary cap skyrockets in 2023 once new NFL broadcasting agreements come into play.
So the forecast suggests more of the same in New Orleans: hard losses throughout the roster’s middle class, while the Saints work around the clock to retain their blue-chip talents.
