Deadlines make deals. It’s a common refrain among negotiators and it appears that is going to be the case with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Despite other teams using the legal tampering to send out feelers to Brees’ camp, it appears some time spent on Monday with the organization allowed the two parties to get close to a deal. So close, according to Ian Rapoport, it may be consummated in time to avoid the salary cap problems which could occur if he isn’t inked by the time the new league year starts at 4:00 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
