Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem was announced among a list of tryouts for the XFL’s Houston franchise, during their Summer Showcase series. Other notable names on the list include:
- DB Bradley Sylve (Alabama)
- DB Rickey Jefferson (LSU), recently on the Saints practice squad
- DB Will Hill (Florida)
- DE Sam Montgomery (LSU)
- QB Devante Kincade (Grambling State)
- QB Zach Mettenberger (LSU)
- RB Kenny Hilliard (LSU)
Meachem, 34, appeared in six seasons for the Saints after being drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft; his rookie year was a redshirt, and he had a stint with the then-San Diego Chargers in 2012.
