The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its list of 122 modern era nominees for the 2020 class on Thursday. This long, initial list features players who have retired within the last 25 years and is built up of 63 players with backgrounds on offense, 43 on defense, and 16 on special teams.
It also includes several former members of the New Orleans Saints. Chiefly, linebacker Sam Mills, tight end Jeremy Shockey, and defensive lineman La’Roi Glover.
Mills was a starring member of the “Dome Patrol” defenses of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, where he was named to four Pro Bowls and earned two second-team All-Pro nods.
